The logistics firm will provide palletised distribution using full-truckload service from the Princes warehouse in Bradford, West Yorkshire. Palletised soft drinks will be transported to the manufacturer’s customers across the country, including major supermarkets, convenience stores, foodservice operators and wholesale suppliers.
Princes are afforded real-time visibility and vehicle tracking into the progress of deliveries.
Dan Myers, managing director for XPO Logistics in UK and Ireland, said: “Princes Group encompasses so many recognised and loved brands found in kitchen cupboards up and down the country.
“Being a critical part of Princes’ supply chain is testimony to the relationship we’ve built together and the trust Princes has in the XPO team.”
Princes Group is involved in manufacturing, importing and distributing branded and customer-owned goods in the UK and internationally. Its product range includes tinned fish, meat, fruit, ready-made meals, soft drinks and edible oils.
Last year, the company reported a reduction in its overall global food waste by 12.84% since the year prior and 4% across the group’s UK sites.
That same year also saw Princes finish the first phase of a £60m investment in its Cardiff soft drinks factory, the largest spend on that division, in a bid to take the company into new markets.
According to Princes, the move would double production capacity through the installation of seven new production lines, in addition to a significant upgrade and refurbishment of two existing lines.
